Put on your dancing shoes! Ali meets up with singing sensation Veronica Meza when she performs with her band, the Latino Beat, at the Salsa on St. Clair festival. She can teach him a move or two!
Joy and Ali also go in search of the perfect Salvadorean street eat – the pupusa! Lucky Ali hits the jackpot at the Pupuseria El Sabor de El Salvador where Yanet Ramos explains how they’re made and how to gobble them down!
Ali heads to Edgar’s Latin to shop for some typical Salvadorean ingredients like tamale flour, frijoles, Crema San Julián, corn husks, and plantain leaves. Then it’s off to the Latin Emporium where Cecilia de Espinoza teaches Joy how to make healthy Horchata, Cebada and Atol Shuco.
At Mi Pueblo, Joy gets a chance to make some savoury chicken tamales and sweet corn tamales. Finally, Joy is treated to a succulent fried Red Snapper and juicy, marinated Bistek.
